We offer the seclusion otherwise only experienced at fly-in camps, yet we offer the convenience of a boat-in. There are no weight restrictions, weather restrictions or time constraints - we can bring you in whichever day you wish and at any time of the day, providing there is daylight. There are no other cabins on our lake.
Do I need a passport?
You do not need a passport to regain entry to the States by road in 2007. See Crossing the border for more details. What sized boat can your river handle?
The river is suitable for anything from a 12 foot 9.9 to a Bass boat with 250hp black max. The river bottom is clay so you don't have to worry about dinging your prop.
When is the best fishing?
When your line is in the water!
The lake offers good fishing all year long, with fluctuations mostly according to the weather. I prefer the end of the season (September) when the water levels are low and the temperature is comfortable. There is unbelievable walleye fishing in mid May, following the spawn.
How many fish and what size will I catch? Well we could say anything here, couldn’t we! Different people using the same bait at the same time in the same place regularly catch different numbers of fish. That is all part of the game. What we can say, is that we know our lake has lots of fish and lots of big ones, because our clients regularly catch them. Take a look at our photo pages for a better idea. How many guests are at the camp? We have a maximum capacity of 40 if all the beds in all cabins are used. However, we limit our bookings to three fishing groups at any one time. Numbers in the groups vary, but average around 4. Do you get bears in the camp? In the last 4 years, there have been 2 bears seen around the camp. One was wandering past, on the trail of a moose with her calf. The other was in the bush at the perimeter, and was easily spooked away. Black bears are not interested in humans Do I need to bring bait? We supply minnows and night crawlers. It is best to advise which you prefer. If you like to use leeches, you might like to bring your own. We have not had as much success with these and they are difficult to obtain in this area.
What are the bugs like?
Mosquitoes and blackflies are usually around in June, though mosquitoes may continue if there has been wet weather. Bugs are usually not bad out on the water and cabins are fully screened. We find mosquito coils work very well in the cabins and personal repellent containing DEET is a good idea. There are no known mosquito causing illnesses in the area.

Well-behaved pets are welcome. Most people don’t bring pets, probably because they are out fishing most of the day, but if you have a pet that likes to fish you are welcome to bring it along! You will need to show an up-to-date rabies vaccination at the border.
